GOKULASHTAMI(1st,September)Gokulashtami is the Janmadin of Lord Krishna celebrated by the Hindus all over India.
Uriyadi (breaking the pots hanged on a high level) is the important event of the day.
In the legends Lord Krishna is portrayed as a mischievous person (leela vinodhan). He enoys
stealing the butter from the uri (hanging pots). Breakin the pots on that day is to symbolize this activity of Krishna. (Navaneetha choran- one who steals buter)-Kalaavathy Rengaasamy.
